You’re very active in several philanthropic and nonprofit organizations. Why is this service important to you?
You don’t have to be rich to be a philanthropist. It is such a blessing to have the time, treasure and knowledge to be able to invest in organizations focused on education, social welfare and my faith community. I hope that others believe that my life has embodied the scripture: “To whom much is given, much will be required.”
What do you think makes for a successful leadership team?
In a word: trust. Individuals’ actions show that leadership is trustworthy. Working as a servant leader ensures that leaders are trusted. Trust leads to success.
What makes PRSA’s mission powerful for you?
Thirty years ago, I couldn’t wait to join PRSA. It has been a 30-year commitment to professionalism and life-long career learning. We are the gold standard for our profession.
