Question of the Month: What Are You Thankful for in Your PR Career?

For each issue, the editors of Strategies & Tactics ask PRSA members a “Question of the Month.” In honor of Thanksgiving, we posed the following question for November: “What are you thankful for in your PR career?”

“I am thankful for all the bosses, mentors and clients who allowed me to experiment, learn, explore and work in the most amazing profession. Thanks to their faith in me, I continue growing.”

Ann Barks, APR
Owner, Ann Barks Public Relations
New Orleans

“I am most thankful for the many mentors who have guided, counseled and advised me along the journey of my career. They not only helped me navigate my own path, but also inspired me to do the same for younger practitioners and students.”

Kelly Davis, APR
Founder, Davis Public Relations and Marketing, LLC
Columbia, S.C.

“I’m grateful for a profession with meaning and purpose from the very beginning thanks to my first mentors, Edward Bernays and BU Professor Otto Lerbinger. Grateful to be in the arena with bright, creative, good-humored people, devoted to doing what’s right.”
