PRSA 2009 International Conference: Part of It’s for Fun, After All

I was tapped to take the lead partially because I immerse myself in social media (it’s the bulk of what my firm does) and because I’m relatively new to San Diego. Instead of the normal glossy brochure blah, blah (you’ll get plenty from other marketing pieces), our four-person team will tap social media tools and our “local” status to texturize the conference setting and activities to consider. That in mind, I created a “locals” photo sampler highlighting noteworthy elements.

PRSA National asked us to do some social media/guest blogging to help give PRSA members a sense of the PRSA 2009 International Conference: Delivering Value, and San Diego (we’re hosting it).

I was tapped to take the lead partially because I immerse myself in social media (it’s the bulk of what my firm does) and because I’m relatively new to San Diego. Here just two years, I still remember what it was like before I lived in paradise.

Instead of the normal glossy brochure blah, blah (you’ll get plenty from other marketing pieces), my four-person team will tap social media tools and our “local” status to texturize the Conference setting and activities to consider. That in mind, I created a “locals” photo sampler highlighting noteworthy elements.
In later posts, we’ll provide Google Maps of the hotel area and amenities, commentary from Conference “insiders”, maybe even a spoof on what’s being presented.

It’s a conference, after all. Part’s for work/learning/networkingand part’s for fun.

  • Casey – great post but I have to say I’m most excited about finding Pictobrowser through this. Just checked it out and what a cool tool for us social media peeps. You’re always so cutting edge! I’ll be there in SD – actually doing a breakout with Johna Burke from BurrellesLuce on media relations more on that to come! Thanks though for the tips and info.

  • You’re right on with what you posted! This conference is going to rock, but even better are all the activities and thing going on behind the scenes… the networking, the sightseeing, and then there is the professional development. There’s so much going on!
