Turn Membership Into Meaning: PRSA Goes Pink to Fight Breast Cancer

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — a time that unites communities, families and organizations around the shared commitment to save lives and support those impacted by cancer. This year, I am proud to announce that PRSA is joining the fight through a new partnership with the American Cancer Society.

Through our “Turn Membership Into Meaning: PRSA Goes Pink” campaign, PRSA will contribute 10% of the fees collected from new members throughout October to the American Cancer Society. These funds will help fuel lifesaving research, patient services and advocacy programs that touch millions of families every year.

But this campaign is about more than dollars. It’s about connection. At PRSA, our mission has always been to connect people, ideas and organizations in meaningful ways. By standing with the American Cancer Society, we demonstrate the strength of our profession when we unite for a cause greater than ourselves.

For new members, joining PRSA this month means supporting your own professional growth while directly impacting the fight against cancer. For existing members, we invite you to honor the loved ones in your life by making a donation in their name. Together, these efforts create a ripple effect that strengthens our community and amplifies our collective voice.

Cancer has touched nearly all of us in some way — through a family member, a colleague or a dear friend. This partnership presents an opportunity for us to not only support one another but also contribute to a future where fewer lives are lost and more stories of survival are celebrated.

I encourage you to visit prsa.org/pinktober to learn more, join PRSA or make a donation. Let’s show the true power of our profession by turning membership into meaning and going pink for a cause that matters to us all.

Together, we can make a difference.
